Summertime favorite Loggins is back for annual appearance
Kenny Loggins is a summer tradition in Las Vegas. And he is all-American enough that he doesn’t even have to sing “America the Beautiful” this Fourth of July weekend, although surely no one could stop him.
The 66-year-old rocker can make you nostalgic for the summer you saw “Caddyshack” with “I’m Alright.” Or “Top Gun” (“Danger Zone”). Or “Footloose.” Or the remake of “Footloose.” (Well, both “Footloose” movies came out in the fall, but maybe you caught them on cable during the summer.)
Loggins has been part of the American landscape so long — since 1971 if you want to go back to the Loggins and Messina days — he’s been in and out of fashion. “It just depends on the era, when it’s cool, when it’s not,” Loggins said a few years ago.
