Fuddruckers sure to please the picky eater

Fuddruckers is heaven for food control freaks.

First, pick your meat, with options such as USDA premium-cut beef, beer-battered chicken, grilled chicken, turkey burger, crispy fish patty, ribeye steak, grilled salmon, or exotic choices such as buffalo, elk or Kobe beef. Or go beyond meat with a veggie burger. Then you can decide on a size, with burgers in third, half or even two-thirds of a pound.

For toppings, selecting a cheese is just the beginning. Specialty burgers come with a wealth of topping options such as guacamole, smokehouse bacon, jalapenos, caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms. And how do you want that burger cooked? Rare, medium or well-done? Top it with buns that are baked fresh daily and lightly toasted.

Then, once your burger is done, you’€™re really in control. A salad bar-like station is stocked with sliced tomatoes, onions and at least two kinds of lettuce, along with pico de gallo and pickles. You also get to apply your own ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, steak sauce and relish. Or go crazy and coat your food in warm cheese sauce. Back your burger up with wedge fries or onion rings, or why not have half and half?

Still hungry? Add a fresh-baked cookie or milk shake.

Fuddruckers has two Las Vegas Valley locations: inside The Orleans, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave., and at 4195 S. Grand Canyon Drive. The latter location offers a kids' menu with hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, cheeseburgers or chicken tenders, accompanied by fries, apples, a fruit cup, barbecue beans or coleslaw.

The Grand Canyon Drive location also offers a kids-eat-free promotion after 4 p.m. on Tuesdays. Other promotions include a 15 percent discount for military members, a 10 percent senior discount and a 50 percent discount for Metropolitan Police Department personnel in uniform.
