Friendly’s ice cream spotted out west
Having just spent a week in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York and seen signs for Friendly’s ice cream all over the place, I smiled when I received this email from Bill Friedlander:
“Here’s a shout-out to all your readers who formerly lived on the East Coast,” he wrote. “For the very first time, Friendly’s ice cream is being sold in Nevada!” Friedlander, who said the ice cream hadn’t been available west of the Mississippi, spotted it at Albertsons at 7271 S. Eastern Ave. “What a terrific surprise!” he added. …
For Linda Valkenburg, who’s looking for restaurants in Las Vegas or Henderson that have stuffed peppers on the menu, Danny Becker reported having seen them on the specials board at Images Restaurant at the Rainbow Casino, 122 S. Water St. in Henderson, and CeCi Schreiber emailed that while it’s not stuffed peppers, “great” stuffed cabbage can be found at the Bagel Cafe, 301 N. Buffalo Drive. …
For John Noyer, who’s looking for It’s Delish sesame seeds in a 9-ounce container, Bryan Forbes said they, among a “whole wall” of It’s Delish products, are available at Vons at 45 E. Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson. And Gloria Castricone reported that she still finds them at the Albertsons at 1650 N. Buffalo Drive. …
For Linda Morelli, who’s looking for Murray’s sugar-free cookies, Dave Reynard emailed to say Winco has a large display. “Not sure if it has pecan-shortbread, but it has many kinds,” he added. Local Winco stores are at 80 N. Stephanie St. in Henderson and 6101 N. Decatur Blvd.

And, my apologies; that was Will Virgil who reported spotting fresh turkey necks at Mario’s Westside Market, 1960 N. Martin Luther King Blvd. Virgil added, “They serve up some of the best fried catfish in the valley.”
