ABC’s ‘Lucky 7’ 1st show of new season to get axed

NEW YORK — The ABC drama “Lucky 7” has won a dubious derby as the first television show of the new season to be cancelled.

ABC said Friday the show is gone after two episodes.

The show is about a group of lottery winners. It’ll be replaced on Tuesday night’s schedule temporarily by reruns of the network’s hit show “Scandal.”

“Lucky 7” is a remake of a British series. It even counted Steven Spielberg as one of its executive producers. It focused on seven gas station employees from Queens who struck it rich.

Its premiere was seen by 4.4 million people, the lowest fall premiere ever for an ABC drama. This week’s second episode had 2.6 million viewers, a 41 percent drop.
