Britain’s Nero, Sweden’s Alesso give club slate international spice
This weekend's DJ lineup is calmer than usual. Yet, I've still got big highlights for you.
SATURDAY: British electro trio Nero is at Wynn's XS. Their single "Promises" features their own vocalist Alana Watson in a hit bumped up by a Skrillex remix. And their killer instrumental "Doomsday" takes no aural hostages.
SUNDAY: Swedish progressive DJ Alesso plays under the sun at Encore Beach Club. Regular clubbers know him best by the poppy hits "Calling" (with Sebastian Ingrosso and Ryan Tedder) and his remix of "Pressure" by Nadia Ali, Starkillers and Alex Kenji.
MONDAY: Legendary California DJ Steve Aoki plays at XS. Clubbers know him for everything - "Warp" with the Bloody Beetroots, "Turbulence" with Laidback Luke and Lil Jon, and much more.
TUESDAY: Progressive-Dutch DJ Dash Berlin spins at Lavo at Palazzo, armed with his hits "Waiting" and "Disarm Yourself" (both singles featured vocalist Emma Hewitt).
WEDNESDAY: Alesso follows his Sunday gig at Encore with this Wednesday spin at Surrender; while Dutch DJ Chuckie is at Lavo.
THURSDAY: The oft-amazing Italian songwriting DJ Benny Benassi ("Satisfaction," "Cinema," "Spaceship") performs at Marquee, along with DJs Cedric Gervais and Alex Gaudino. Meanwhile, Hardwell ("Encoded") DJs at Lavo. And Bingo Players ("Cry Just A Little") are at Surrender.
