The story: Manolo (Luna) and his best friend, Joaquin (Tatum), vie for the affections of a princess (Saldana) in this animated tale inspired by Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, holiday.

The buzz: “The Book of Life” is produced by Guillermo del Toro, so if nothing else, it should at least look fantastic.
