Local restaurants offering Military Appreciation discounts
A number of local restaurants are offering discounts for veterans and active-duty members of the military through Tuesday, which concludes Military Appreciation Month. Among them: Bistro 57, Aliante Casino: 20 percent discount; Cabo Wabo, Miracle Mile Shops: 20 percent discount on food and drink

El Dorado Cantina, 3025 Sammy Davis Drive, has brought back its chapulines — that would be grasshoppers — and its french toast by popular demand. New menu items include cactus tacos, a mahi burrito, veggie and mole enchiladas and a fruit cocktail and fruit parfait.

Morels Steakhouse & Bistro at the Palazzo is offering a number of specials during its Burgerfest, through Tuesday. They include the American, with lettuce, tomato, pickled leeks and aged cheddar, $18; the Hawaiian, with grilled pineapple and onion, Swiss cheese and teriyaki, $19; and the Shroominess, with fried portabella, baby spinach, roasted red potatoes and caramelized balsamic onions, $19.

Triple George Grill, 201 N. Third St., and the Mob Museum are offering the Made Experience for $89 per person with a two-person minimum. It starts with a charcuterie platter or kale salad and moves on to a 9-ounce filet with potato cake and lobster tail or bacon-wrapped scallops with creamed corn and then to tiramisu or zeppole. A ticket to the museum is included and if, upon arrival at Triple George, you check in at the bar with the secret password “capo,” you’ll get a Capo Cocktail as well.
