The Cab, playing today, taking control of career
The more things change, the more they don't.
At least for Vegas' radio-ready rockers The Cab when it came to their sophomore disc, "Symphony Soldier," which they dropped in August.
"We really liked our first album's sound with really polished pop, clean, U2-sounding guitar and the dark, minor R&B side to things," singer Alex DeLeon told the Review-Journal shortly before the record's release. "That's our band's sound. We don't need to change. Just because our first record didn't sell millions of copies doesn't mean we were doing anything wrong. We just really focused on perfecting the sound."
They've honed their buoyant funk lite to a fine point on "Soldier," which they financed themselves after splitting from their former record label.
"It's been a long process," noted guitarist/pianist Alex Marshall of reasserting more control over the band's career prospects. "I feel like we're ready for that next step."
