Tiger Army bring psychobilly to House of Blues
A few years back, Tiger Army frontman Nick 13 released a solo album of country tunes as overcast as a mass of angry storm clouds.
It wasn’t a completely unexpected move.
You can hear a palpable Johnny Cash influence in Tiger Army’s moody, curled lip psychobilly.
What’s psychobilly you ask?
Well, it’s like the rockabilly of Cash’s formative years, only, you know, more psycho and stuff.
Tiger Army tends to hit town this time of year, in conjunction with the annual Viva Las Vegas rockabilly festival, where the group offers a modern update on a sound as vintage as the flame-painted rides in The Orleans parking lot this weekend.
