The Warlocks set to cast their spell
Their tunes tend to wash over you, a rising tide of recalescent guitar burn and space-case vocals frothing on the shoreline.
The Warlocks’ opaque, enveloping jams alternately anesthetize and invigorate, spanning from hazy psychedelia to serrated guitar rock.
Their tunes have a hypnotic, narcotic quality to them, but at the same time, the band delights in abruptly puncturing any reverie with bursts of carefully cultivated noise and dissonance.
Though heralding from L.A., The Warlocks have local ties, which will be underscored this weekend when former bassist Bobby Martinez, a Vegas native, also performs on the bill with the band.
