Music acts to check out at First Friday
It’s a midsummer night’s dream this Friday, especially if you’re into local music.
OK, yes, technically, it’s not even officially summer yet. Just the same, only the calendar can tell the difference at this point. The past week has sometimes felt like standing on the surface of the sun — and things are just heating up around here, and that includes the music.
Behold Music Is Beautiful, a night of music presented by First Friday Las Vegas and linked to the Life Is Beautiful festival this fall. On Friday night, more than two dozen local artists are set to perform at eight downtown venues, from the First Friday Main Stage to Container Park. Other venues include the Dance DepARTment, Bunkhouse, Commonwealth, Artifice, Inspire Theater and the Velveteen Rabbit. The artists are vying for a chance to appear at this year’s Life Is Beautiful festival at the end of September.
The bill is stacked with acts, including Boiis, Brittany Rose, Brumby, Bukka, Cameron Dettman, Cameron Calloway, Daniel Park, Details, Eliza Battle, Europa, Felix Fans of Jimmy Century, Jill and Julia, Marion Write, Justin James Turner, Kella Bo Bella, Maxwell Fresh, Megan Williams, Rockie Brown Band, Ryan Lofty, Shana Tucker, the Perks, the Rabbit Hole, Walk Off Hits, Wretched Sky and XT Dream.
Music Is Beautiful is free and there are shuttles running continuously between venues throughout the night. Visit firstfridaylasvegas.com for more information.
