Las Vegas concerts on sale this week

There are number of new shows to tell you about this week, so we’ll get right to it.

First the freebies: Tortured Soul, a Brooklyn-based soul act whose smooth blend of music sounds anything but tortured, is set to make its was to Brooklyn Bowl at The Linq for a free show July 6. Earphunk, meanwhile, the self-proclaimed prog-funk outfit (and indeed accurately so, we might add) from New Orleans is getting ready to embark on an extensive tour that will take it all over the country, with a handful of festival stops at the Steamboat Mountain Music Series and Gathering of the Vibes, among others. You can catch the band here for free at Brooklyn Bowl with Barry Black on July 9.

Unless you just touched down from the isolated jungles of Papua New Guinea, you’ve by now heard that the surviving members of the Grateful Dead are reconvening at Soldier Field in Chicago for a three-night stand with Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti of Rat Dog, The Dead and Furthur, and longtime collaborator Bruce Hornsby. The shows, which are slated to take place July 3-5, were put together with the help of Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas owner Peter Shapiro. That said, it makes perfect sense that the historical event will be simulcast at the venue. Tickets for the Fare Thee Well broadcast are $15 (plus fees) and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. (702-862-2695)

If you’re on the fence in terms of which day of the Fare Thee Well celebration to attend, consider Saturday. That’s when you’ll get the most bang for your buck. With the simulcast starting at 5 p.m., you can stick around and catch a set from the always-fabulous Funky Meters for five extra bones. That’s right. Fare Thee Well and the Funky Meters for $20. Talk about the perfect pairing. Tickets are $20, and, again, include the simulcast, and go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. (702-862-2695)

Finally, later that week, Cleveland-by-way-of-Denver rapper Machine Gun Kelly is due to make a stop at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets for his July 10 show, which should be dependably electrifying, range from $25 to $30, and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. (702-862-2695).
