Celebrate local bands at ‘Homegrown Show’ concert

Local and unsigned bands have about as much of a presence on mainstream radio as nonzany, totally understated morning drive-time DJs.

But for Las Vegas bands, there has been one lasting outlet for them on the FM dial: “The KOMP 92.3 Homegrown Show,” which airs from 10 p.m. to midnight Sundays.

Since 1998, host Laurie Steele has given area acts a chance to be heard outside of smoky rock dives.

In honor of the 15th anniversary of “Homegrown,” Steele is releasing a new compilation CD of Las Vegas bands as and hosting a locals-only concert featuring Left Standing, Ministry of Love, Dinner Music for the Gods and the Sin City Sinners.

Celebrate the show with the bands the show celebrates.
