B.B. King in hospice at Las Vegas home
Blues legend B.B. King told fans through his website that he’s under hospice care at his Las Vegas home.
“I am in home hospice care at my residence in Las Vegas. Thanks to all for your well wishes and prayers,” the statement reads.
The 89-year-old guitarist was treated at a Las Vegas hospital for several days last month because of dehydration due to diabetes.
King has suffered from Type II diabetes from more than two decades and is a spokesman against the disease. He cancelled eight shows on his tour last year because of dehydration and exhaustion.
King is a member of the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame, Blues and R&B halls of fame and has earned 15 Grammy Awards. Born in Mississippi, he has lived in Las Vegas for years. One of his B.B. King’s Blue Clubs opened at The Mirage in 2009 but closed three years later.
