Atmosphere going deep at Boulevard Pool

They’ve gone from broken hearts to broken homes.

“The Family Sign,” the latest album from emotive hip-hop duo Atmosphere, explores domestic struggles in such candid detail, it’s as if you’re hearing the neighbors argue through too-thin apartment walls.

Battered wives, drunken dads, scared kids — you probably won’t hear many of these tunes blasting from boomboxes at the beach.

But for as harrowing as the subject matter can be, the album isn’t without hope.

Its ultimate message: When luck is hard, just be harder.
