Regal Cinemas offering 2-for-1 ‘Birdman’ tickets

If its leading nine nominations at next month’s Oscars weren’t enough to get you to see “Birdman,” Regal Cinemas is giving you an extra incentive.

The theater chain is offering two-for-one tickets to see it at its Las Vegas locations through Feb. 5.

The story of washed-up action star Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton), who’s directing and starring in his own Broadway adaptation of a Raymond Carver short story while possibly losing his mind, “Birdman” seems to be in a two-way race with “Boyhood” for best picture.

And while it’s still early — final voting doesn’t even begin until Feb. 6 — Keaton’s main competition for best actor appears to be “The Theory of Everything’s” Eddie Redmayne.

Among its nominations, “Birdman” also is up for supporting actor (Edward Norton), supporting actress (Emma Stone), director (Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu) and original screenplay.

The two-for-one ticket offer is available at the box office at Aliante, Colonnade, Fiesta Henderson, Texas Station and Village Square.
