Cirque’s ‘One Drop’ playing June 10

Granted, Las Vegas may a bit redundant for a one-night nationwide movie-theater screening of Cirque du Soleil’s “One Night for One Drop.” It is, after all, the city where you could have attended the benefit in person last March.

But maybe you were busy that night. Didn’t feel like dressing up. Would rather pay $15 than the $100-to-$325 for the live tickets. Were in the show and want to see yourself on the big screen where you saw “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.” Want to sit among Cirque artists who were in the show and …

Well, whatever. Five local theaters are running Fathom Events’ filmed version at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday: Village Square 18, Santa Fe Station 16, Century 16 South Point, Sams Town 18 and Orleans 18. You can buy advance tickets at fathomevents.com.

The One Drop benefits the foundation of the same name, started by Cirque co-founder Guy Laliberte for advocacy, education and microloans related to global water issues.

For the past three years, Las Vegas Cirque shows took the night off to help create unique material for the benefit. But next year’s One Drop will be at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, suggesting more guest stars — such as John Legend this year — and less acrobatics.
