Ant-sized preview for ‘Ant-Man’ movie

LOS ANGELES - Marvel and Disney are going small for “Ant-Man,” rolling out a 17-second clip of superhero film — starring Paul Rudd — as a “teaser preview” to the “human-sized” trailer launching next week.

Viewers of the trailer will need magnification in order to discern the action in the small-scale clip. The full-sized teaser will be unveiled during the two-hour series premiere of “Marvel’s Agent Carter” at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6 on ABC.

“Ant-Man,” directed by Peyton Reed, will open on July 17 in the U.S.

Rudd plays conman Scott Lang who must help mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) protect the secret behind his Ant-Man suit. Shooting started Aug. 19 in San Francisco with much of the film shot in Atlanta.

The film will mark the first time Ant-Man, one of Marvel Comics’ original founding members of the Avengers, is introduced on the bigscreen. Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, T.I., and Gregg Turkington also star.
