Dining Pick of the Week: Sporting Life Bar
Sporting Life Bar
7770 S. Jones Blvd., 702-331-4647
Walking into the Sporting Life Bar, any customer — sports lover or not — will notice that the bar’s name is fitting. Decked out with more than 20 televisions and two projection screens, the bar streams sports shows from surfing to baseball for its customers. The business, which opened in April, is decorated with sports art and dartboards. Even the bar is made out of recycled wood from a 1920s basketball court. The menu includes typical bar food, such as nachos, wings, burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs, for $15 or less. Diners also can order entrees, including braised beef short rib, pan-roasted duck breast, broiled crab cake, gnocchi fricassee, seared salmon, steak frites and a sausage plate. Prices range between $16 and $22. The bar serves 13 domestic and seven import draft beers in 16-ounce cups or pitchers. In addition, diners can choose from 23 domestic or 17 import bottled beers. Wine and specialty cocktails also are available. Dessert includes fried ice cream (chocolate ice cream in ginger beer brioche crust with whipped cream and berries), fried Oreos with ice cream and bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream for $5.99 each. The Sporting Life Bar is open 24/7. Patrons must be 21 or older. For more information, visit sportinglifebar.com.
