Dining Pick of the Week: Braddah’s Island Style
Braddah’s Island Style
6410 N. Durango Drive, 702-901-8516
In a unique fusion of Hawaiian and Mexican flavors, Braddah’s Island Style provides a convenient, delicious and healthy detour from everyday fast food. Located near Durango Drive and the 215 Beltway, Braddah’s has dine-in, take-out, drive-through and catering options. Upon entering the establishment, beachy-style decor and reggae music set a cool and relaxed ambience, and welcoming servers direct patrons to the ordering area. Diners choose from a variety of items to build their own dish. After selecting whether you want your meal served as a burrito, a salad, in three tacos or in a bowl, you choose meat and vegetables. Choices include Huli Huli Chicken, Kalua Pig, Pelehu Steak, grilled fish or grilled veggies. Accompany your main meal with delicious seaweed rice or brown rice, black beans, guacamole with Hawaiian pink salt, charred pineapple verde, mango roasted corn, and tomatoes with grilled Maui onions. The Hawaiian infusion into the flavors of the food is subtle but powerful and accompanies sauces such as the papaya buttermilk ranch dressing. Apart from being easy and fast, Braddah’s Island Style is also affordable. Prices range from $6.96 for a meal that includes the chicken or pork options to $7.50 for the steak option. A side order of coconut bark costs $2.75 per person, and chips and guacamole for two costs $4.95. Braddah’s Island Style is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. There is another location at 2330 S. Rainbow Blvd., with a third location planned soon near UNLV.
