Everyone loves the shiny new thing.
That’s the premise of “The Affair” (10 p.m. Sunday, Showtime).
Novelist Noah (“The Wire’s” Dominic West) is happily married to Helen (Maura Tierney).
Waitress Alison (“Luther’s” Ruth Wilson) is less-happily wed to Cole (Joshua Jackson).
A Hamptons summer brings them together in this raw, intimate drama told in two parts: his and hers.
Subtle but important differences, and a few pretty major discrepancies, mark their recollections.
They’re both being interrogated, months or years in the future. We’re not sure when. Or why.
“The Affair” is a shiny new thing you just may love.
