Justin Timberlake to film upcoming Vegas concerts
Justin Timberlake is returning yet again to Las Vegas, and this time, he’s bringing with him the dude who gave Hannibal Lecter his big screen break out.
Director Jonathan Demme will be in the house when Timberlake concludes his lengthy “The 20/20 Experience World Tour” with a pair of shows at the MGM Garden arena on Jan. 1 and 2.
Demme will be shooting the shows for an upcoming concert film, which he has experience making, having directed the Talking Heads’ seminal “Stop Making Sense” as well as a trio of features on Neil Young in addition to celebrated Hollywood productions like “Philadelphia,” The Silence of the Lambs” and “Something Wild.”
Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
In other concert news, Vegas’ Imagine Dragons return with their first show here since playing last year’s Life Is Beautiful festival when they headline night two of X107.5’s Holiday Havoc show at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on Dec. 11. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Rappers French Montana and Jeremih team up at Brooklyn Bowl on Dec. 20. Tickets are $27.50 in advance, $33 day of show and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the venue box office and www.ticketfly.com.
Guitar great Carlos Santana adds dates to his residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay on May 20, 22-24, 27 and 29-31. Tickets start at $95 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the House of Blues box office, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and Ticketmaster outlets.
Punk metal lifers Suicidal Tendencies slam into Hard Rock Live on Dec. 13. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 day of show and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hard Rock Live box office, 3771 Las Vegas Blvd. South, and www.ticketweb.com.
