Festival offers gritty alternative to Life Is Beautiful
There’s the Life Is Beautiful festival, and then there’s the Life Is Sh!@ festival, though, really, the latter is a beauty in its own way.
Returning for a second year just like the larger fest it was born as an alternative to, Life Is Sh!@ pairs 19 national and local indie acts on two stages, its awesomely eclectic lineup ranging from “nasty, nasty” sleaze rock of Hollywood cheetah-print spandex aficionados Leather Duchess to Tucson, Ariz.’s great psych pop eccentrics Lenguas Largas to oddball Colorado “rapper” Saustro and the Fruity Loops.
A whole slew of ace regional bands will take part in the festivities as well, including punk rock battering ram Illicitor, Boulder City’s Same Sex Mary, Americana subvert Jack Evan Johnson, the gloriously noisy Headwinds and more.
Life is sh!@?
