This week’s 5 best bets for dining in Las Vegas

For friends

Feel like imbibing with your buds? Get together at Cantina Laredo at Tivoli Village and you can share three cocktails introduced just for summer. From left to right, they’re the Smoke & Fire Mule, $12; Smoked Peach Mule, $12; and Desert Pear Mojito, $10.25; and they’re available for a limited time.

Something new

Got “Pokemon Go” fever? If so, you can get a free Pikachu Bolt at DB Brasserie at The Venetian with the purchase of another cocktail — provided you can show you have a Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos or Moltres. One per person. The Westgate Las Vegas offers specials for trainers through the end of August including $17.99 PokeBowls at Silk Road Asian Bistro and Rikki Tikki Sushi, $5 PokeBall cookies at Fortuna and $10 PokePancakes at Sid’s Cafe. And on Wednesdays, Glutton in downtown Las Vegas is offering players poke-style ahi tuna tacos for $3 each, as well as two-for-one beers.

Family fun

Here’s your chance to introduce the kids to the art of those knife-flashing teppan chefs — while ensuring Mom and Dad get something good to eat as well. Ohjah Japanese Steakhouse, which has four locations in the valley, has added lamb chops, duck and sea bass to its menu. For details, go to www.ohjahsteakhouse.com.

Solo trip

Looking for a way to cool off on these hot afternoons? Shake Shack, which has valley locations at New York-New York and in Downtown Summerlin, has introduced a new raspberry limemade, $2.80 or $3.55, depending on size. If you want something a little stronger there’s the Shack Shandy, a blend of ShackMeister Ale and Shack-made lemonade, $6.50 to $23.

Date night

Date night doesn’t have to be break (as in break-the-budget) night. Lupo at Mandalay Bay has introduced a $45 three-course summer pre-fixe menu. Entree choices include Pappardelle Bolognese, roasted Scottish salmon or grilled organic half chicken.
