The Juice Standard to open at Cosmo

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, as hip-and-trendy a resort as one can find on the Strip, has been lacking one hip-and-trendy requirement: a juice bar. But that's about to change, and in a big way.

The Juice Standard, founded by two Las Vegas women in 2014, will open its third location in early February, at the Cosmopolitan. It's the company's first foray to the Strip.

"From our day of inception, that was always the big 'wow' dream," said Jamie Stephenson, founder, CEO and co-owner with Marcella Williams. "The funny thing is, we always dreamed of the Cosmopolitan as the place we would totally like to open."

That came to be, she said, when a few of the resort's executives became regular customers.

"One thing led to another," she said. "The next thing you know, we're here."

Stephenson said The Juice Standard's way of doing things sets it apart. Juices, she said, are made with one of three processes: pasteurized with heat, processed with high pressure or created raw.

"We'll be the only ones on the Strip that have raw, unpasteurized, non HPP (for high-pressure process) product," she said. "And we are 100-percent organic. It's the highest quality. It means it has a short life, but it's the finest. We believe that food is your medicine, and we truly live that life."

Stephenson said newbies are always welcome to come in and try the juices to find one they like.
