Downtown Crown Pub opens on Wednesday
Downtown is about to be Crowned.
The Downtown Crown Pub, in the site of the former Bar + Bistro at 107 E. Charleston Blvd., has a tentative opening time of 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Ron Schultz, co-owner with Ernesto Perdono. The Downtown Crown is a sister property of the venerable Crown & Anchor on East Tropicana Avenue and its offshoot, the Little Crown & Anchor, on Spring Mountain Road.
In a November interview, Schultz said the Downtown Crown, which is adjacent to The Arts Factory, is going to be edgier than the original, with some of the Downtown Arts District vibe, and would capitalize on events such as First Friday. He said it would have largely the same menu as its sister properties, plus five slot machines and pool and foosball tables, and will be open 24/7. The large patio, he said, will be an entertainment area, with live music when weather permits.
