Strip Tips: Lagasse’s Stadium offering food specials for NFL Draft

If you’re jonesing for a football fix, check out the NFL Draft goings-on today at Lagasse’s Stadium at Palazzo.

You missed the first round Thursday, but the second round is today, along with Lagasse’s Stadium food specials.

Watch sports broadcasters on the bar’s big-screen TVs as they talk endlessly about Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o and his fake girlfriend, wide receiver Tavon Austin’s low Wonderlic score and all the other off-season highlights.

All this drama needs some beer and bar food. Lagasse’s Stadium specials include Buffalo chicken dogs, Chicago dogs or chili-cheese dogs, all with fries, each for $10; gumbo, $7; meatball sub with fries, $11; and Texas barbecue bacon burger with fries, $15.

Teacher specials

Two popular Strip attractions are honoring teachers for three weeks in May. Teachers with a valid ID from the Clark County School District can get free admission to the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage and Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef, with the purchase of one adult or child ticket. Regular admission is $18 for adults, $12 for kids at the Shark Reef. At the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, tickets cost $19.95 for adults and $14.95 for kids 4 to 12. The offer is good from Wednesday through May 24. Expired ID badges, insurance cards or pay stubs will not be accepted by either attraction.

Cinco de Mayo

Get ready for the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Senor Frog’s in Treasure Island. On May 4 and 5, the popular cantina will offer a variety of drink specials to go along with some wild entertainment.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., house tequila shots will cost $3 while signature yard margaritas will be two-for-one. A Mexican buffet will be available from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at $30 per person.
