Hiroshima's longevity is easy to explain. Figure that during the heights of "smooth jazz" radio, their's was one of the few groups you could identify by sound, thanks to distinctive, uplifting melodies built around the koto harp of June Kuramoto. A$ap Rocky

Rapper A$ap Rocky (Rakim Mayers) was named after legendary MC Rakim, a fellow New York City native. Does he live up to that lofty designation? Not quite, but then again, few do. Still, Mayers manages to hold his own with high energy and low inhibitions. See him at 9 p.m. Monday at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. 'Young Frankenstein'

It may not be the most terrifying way to spend your Halloween, but it has to be among the funniest. A digitally restored version of Mel Brooks' 1974 classic "Young Frankenstein" - it's pronounced Fronk-en-steen - is being screened at 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sam's Town, Santa Fe Station, South Point and Suncoast.

'Sweeney Todd'

Attend the tale of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." That is, if you dare. Stephen Sondheim's musical classic's not exactly for the faint of heart, considering the vengeful title character's penchant for shaving "the faces of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard from again." It's a bloody good way to mark Halloween weekend; catch the show's final performances at 8 p.m. today through Sunday at the Onyx Theatre, 953 E. Sahara Ave., No. 16B. Day of the Dead

Border Grill will mark the Day of the Dead with a celebration from Tuesday through Nov. 5. As the holiday is the Mexican custom of honoring departed loved ones, customers will be invited to write the name of a deceased loved one on a tag and tie it to the altar in the restaurant at Mandalay Bay. Food and drink specials also will be offered, including Pork in Mole Negro, Black Tamales and Ginger Apple Cake.

Afrojack

If you survive Halloween weekend events, such as Saturday's "Fetish & Fantasy Ball" at Hard Rock, and you're still looking for action on Monday, then you can check out Afrojack at XS nightclub. The Dutch superstar brings his stable of hits and collaborations ("Take Over Control," "No Beef," "The Way We See The World").
