Six Picks: Our experts pick their favorites for the week

Eagles

Actually, I can tell you why the Eagles keep coming back to the MGM Grand Garden, this Saturday marking the third time in four months. You can’t stop the boys from makin’ a buck or two, that’s why, as long as people keep turning out for that peaceful easy feeling. Tickets are $82.40-$229.70 for the show at 8 p.m. Saturday; call 891-7777.

Clutch

With their penchant for exploring every nook and cranny of their songs live, palpable blues, funk and jazz flourishes and loyal fan base, Clutch is kind of like a heavy metal jam band. They’ve got a thunder-belching new record, “Earth Rocker,” and if you don’t have it yet, those in the know are going to laugh and throw rotten vegetables at you. See Clutch at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe, 3771 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $20 in advance, $23 day of show; call 650-8590.

‘Spring Breakers’

Drugs, debauchery and Disney girls. Who could ask for anything more? “Spring Breakers” seems to exist solely to defile Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson. But this leering look at girls gone so wild that Joe Francis would run for his life is so viscerally, gobsmackingly unseemly, there’s a sort of perverse humor about it. And by the time James Franco shows up doing his best vintage Kevin Federline impression, it’s hard not to get swept up in the fever-dream ridiculousness of it all.

‘Shrek the Musical’

It’s not easy being green, but even a mean green ogre — not to mention a feisty princess, a motormouth donkey and other assorted storybook favorites — can find a happy ending in “Shrek the Musical,” which winds up a six-day visit to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave., with 2 and 7:30 p.m. performances today and Saturday. For tickets ($24-$129), call 749-2000 or go online to www.thesmithcenter.com.

Nobhill Tavern

For its final week of service Tuesday through March 30, Nobhill Tavern at the MGM Grand will offer a special menu in tribute to the restaurant’s classic and original dishes. Among them: Gilroy Garlic Soup ($12), Dungeness Crab Louie ($24), Roasted Rack of Hop Sang Pork ($42) and Michael’s Lobster Pot Pie (market price). Entrees will include whipped-potato service.

Donald Glaude

One of America’s most influential, veteran house-music DJs, Donald Glaude, performs Saturday at Body English nightclub in the Hard Rock Hotel. Body English is booking other influential DJs, too. Coming up: 12th Planet (Thursday); and Josh Wink (March 30). Impressive.
