Six Picks: Our experts pick their favorites for the week

Debbie Reynolds

She is unsinkable, yes, but she is also 81. So instead of trying to figure out how many more years Debbie Reynolds will keep performing in our (suburban casino) backyard, get yourself over to the Rampart Casino, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., to see her at 7:30 p.m. Saturday or 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20-$50; call 702-507-5980.

Last Chance

Q: What’s cooler than a progressive metal outfit that creates a Yes-inspired concept album and a corresponding video game based on said record? A: Nothing. This is what Maine’s Last Chance to Reason did for their last disc, “Level 2.” See them at 9 p.m. Sunday at LVCS, 425 Fremont St. Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 day of show; call 702-382-3531.

‘Ghostbusters’

Who you gonna call to go see Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond Stantz, Dr. Egon Spengler and, of course, Winston Zeddmore battle Zuul, Gozer the Gozerian and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? Catch the digitally restored version of “Ghostbusters” at 2 p.m. Sunday and 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sam’s Town, Santa Fe, South Point and Suncoast.

Warhol exhibit

Pop art superstar Andy Warhol would have celebrated his 85th birthday Tuesday. But you can celebrate instead as Bellagio’s Gallery of Fine Art, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, drops the tab for its fab “Warhol Out West” exhibit to $8.50 from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and from 5 to 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 12. You’ll even get a free gallery souvenir; call 702-693-7871 for more info.

Pig out

Ancient Spanish tradition comes to Las Vegas: Luis Montesinos, head chef at Jaleo at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, is roasting a whole pig over the wood-fired grill in the center of the restaurant’s dining room beginning at 4 p.m. every Sunday. The family-style Cochinillo Roast, which is the roasted pig plus crispy skin, pan con tomate, mojo verde and alioli sauce, is $35 per person; one pig can serve up to 60 people. Whole roasts also are available for purchase Mondays through Saturdays with 36 hours notice.

Manufactured
Superstars

Denver musical duo Manufactured Superstars returns to Encore Beach Club on Friday. It’s not clear what they will wear at the pool during our desert summer. They usually don astronaut suits at clubs and put on lighthearted shows. They have said one of their goals is to be the “funnest” DJ act on the scene.
