View Dining Pick of the Week: Pizza Rock

Pizza Rock

Green Valley Ranch Resort, 2300 Paseo Verde Drive, 702-616-2999

Equipped with four types of ovens, Pizza Rock Green Valley has a specific cooking format for every pizza. With its punk rock decor and streaming music videos, the restaurant combines a laid-back American atmosphere with traditional Italian cuisine. As the first American winner of the World Pizza Cup in Naples, Italy, co-owner and chef Tony Gemignani limits his award-winning Margherita pizza (San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella fior di latte, basil, extra-virgin olive oil and sea salt) to just 73 pies per day. Other pizzas include the New Yorker (mozzarella, tomato sauce, link sausage, garlic, pepperoni and ricotta) and the Henderson (mozzarella, pepperoni, Molinari salami, bacon, scallions, mushrooms, red onions, bell peppers, black olives, Italian sausage and cherry tomatoes). The restaurant also offers appetizers, salads, calzones, strombolis, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and desserts. Pizza styles include Napoletana, Romana, American, New York, Classic Italian, Chicago, Sicilian and Californian and range from $14 to $40. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available. Pizza Rock Green Valley is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The original location is in downtown Las Vegas at 201 N. Third St. For more information, visit pizzarockgvr.com.
