Lazy Dog offers craveable comfort food in a trendy, suburban setting — Downtown Summerlin, where it sits at the northernmost end of the outdoor retail center. The decor has hints of Jackson Hole, Wyo., as seen in the birch tree, bear claw accents and black walnut tables. The 9,000-square-foot venue could seat a maximum of 365 diners but keeps things casual at 325 seats. Inside Lazy Dog, the nod to Fido is seen in the bar handles that resemble doggie bones and a little red fire hydrant. The quirky name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to its pet-friendly patio dining where Rover gets his own menu and plenty of fresh water to slobber. But it’s the human menu that pulls people in. Lazy Dog does not disappoint, with its food rooted in Americana while being sprinkled with innovative tastes. The menu includes the Campfire Pot Roast, a garlic butter-glazed, 10-ounce flat iron steak, along with 14-ounce New York steak, Hawaiian sticky ribs with Umami fries, barbecue baby back pork ribs, ginger soy salmon, beer-battered fish and chips, mahi mahi fish tacos, chimichurri mahi mahi, chicken poblano, chicken Parmesan and a handful of pizzas and pasta dishes such as penne carbonara, sundried tomato pesto, Thai noodles with shrimp, veggie lasagna and lemon caper chicken. The wok section has chicken, shrimp and tofu dishes. There are nine varieties of salads and eight sandwiches, including roast beef dip, Carolina pulled pork and a Sriracha chicken. A “nutritious and delicious” menu section highlights healthier offerings. The menu is set to change about three times a year to offer seasonal dishes. Lazy Dog is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit lazydogrestaurants.com.
