Here are the top 10 places to get your coffee fix in Las Vegas
Ahh, coffee. One of the seven wonders of the world.
OK, that was a lie. But it’s pretty awe-inspiring for those who drink it. We asked our Facebook fans where to get the best cup of joe in town, and here’s what they said:
1. Grouchy John’s Coffee: 8520 S. Maryland Pkwy
Grouchy John’s, the winner for the most popular coffee shop in town as voted by Facebook users, gained momentum as a mobile truck in First Friday and other major events. Their brick-and-mortar store opened in 2012 serving coffee from Colorado River Coffee Roasters in Boulder City. Try the Almond Roca Mocha.
Richie Palou said he goes there for “great coffee, amazing customer service” and he liked the emphasis on care for the customer.
2. Bad Ass Coffee: Location varies
This coffee truck is known for serving kona coffee from Hawaii, and apparently it’s so good their fans chase them down for it. You can also buy their coffee online, averaging $10 for an 8 oz. bag, and track where they’ll be next.
3. Sambalatte: 750 S. Rampart Blvd, 6555 S. Jones Blvd and inside Monte Carlo
Ever heard the phrase “there’s more than one way to skin a cat?” Well, there’s way more than one way to brew coffee, and Sambalatte does just that. The company has been referred to as “coffee for those in the know” in and around Summerlin. The first shop opened in the Boca Park shopping center a few years ago, and since they’ve grown to three shops in the Las Vegas Valley, including one inside the Monte Carlo hotel-casino.
4. Sunrise Coffee: 3130 E. Sunset Rd
This southeast Las Vegas shop serves all the classics and more, including the orange mocha and truffle berry lattes. Their in-house brand is Mothership Coffee Roasters, also served at eat. in downtown.
5. At home/Keurig
Some of you just don’t like to go out for coffee. C’est la vie.
6. Cafe Leone: 400 S Rampart Blvd
A nearby competitor of Sambalatte’s Summerlin location, this shop in Tivoli Village comes recommended for their Nutella cappuccino and breakfast pairings.
7. 7-Eleven: Various locations
Well, it’s okay in a pinch.
8. Makers & Finders: 1120 S Main St
This Downtown Las Vegas coffee shop is also known for serving Latin comfort foods. Their coffee is incomparable to the rest in town, offering cortaditos (similar to a small latte, with condensed milk) and Mexican spice latte made with spiced mocha syrup and clove.
9. Holley’s Cuppa: 9265 S Cimarron Rd
This Mountain’s Edge cafe is all about fair trade coffee. The shop serves Santa Cruz Coffee, which in 2000 became “the first licensed Fair Trade roaster on the central California coast.”
10. Tie: Madhouse Coffee and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Various locations
We see you, Californians.
