Nacho Daddy has increased its reach to the west side, opening in the former Firefly location at 9560 W. Sahara Ave. near the end of 2014. The menu elevates the lowly nacho to gourmet status, with varieties such as spicy shrimp, barbecue pulled pork, filet mignon carne asada and Thai chicken. There’s also a tofu nachos selection. Nachos aren’t the only option. Entrees also take center stage, featuring the fajitas skillet, half rack of baby back ribs, quesadillas in three styles (cheese, grilled chicken or filet mignon) and Enchilada Trio Plate. There are also tacos with chicken, pork, shrimp or fresh fish that can be purchased a la carte or as a meal with rice and beans. Burritos also come in a variety of ways, starting with the Daddy’s Big Burrito Plate — refried beans, Mexican cheeses, rice, guacamole and sour cream in a flour tortilla. For burritos, choose your meat: chicken, filet mignon or barbecue pork. The menu choices continue with chimichangas, barbecue carnitas, chili grilled cheese and sandwiches served as fajita cheese steak, pulled pork or Cuban style. Burgers come in three styles, and the half-pound Mexican Street Burger has caramelized chipotle onions and crispy bacon. There is a veggie burger with garlic mayo and avocado, and vegetarians will find a whole page in the menu devoted to meatless choices. Along with lunch and dinner, breakfast is served, including Mexican pancakes (think churros), Santa Fe sopapillas and breakfast burritos. There is a full bar, and patio seating is available. Nacho Daddy on Sahara Avenue is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit nachodaddy.com.
