DAVID CASSIDY TURNS TESTY DURING SOUTH POINT SHOW SUNDAY

An on-stage meltdown by former teen idol David Cassidy sent audience members heading for the doors  in droves on Sunday at the South Point Hotel & Casino.

Cassidy, 62, had trouble remembering the words to his songs and at times scolded the audience, according to disgruntled show-goers.

What was intended to be a tribute to Davy Jones of The Monkees turned into "a disaster," one of the sources said. "He imploded."

Jones died earlier this year. Cassidy "focused on Jones so much he forgot 'Partridge Family' songs." Both Jones and Cassidy were teen heartthrobs during the same era.

Another audience member told Vegas Confidential that many were seen at the box office demanding a refund.

Cassidy soared to fame as the lead singer of ABC’s “The Partridge Family” sitcom in the 1970s.

He was a Las Vegas headliner in the 1990s and later produced a touring Rat Pack show. Cassidy appeared on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2011.

Cassidy was scheduled to perform the Jones tribute on Monday in Layton, Utah.
