JOAQUIN PHOENIX: THE OSCARS ARE ‘THE STUPIDEST THING IN THE WHOLE WORLD’

The 37-year-old actor opened up to Interview Magazine about his revulsion over many facets of the business -- including the building buzz surrounding an Academy Award nomination for his performance in director Paul Anderson’s drama loosely inspired by the founding of Scientology.  “I’m just saying that I think it's bulls---. I think it's total, utter bulls----, and I don't want to be a part of it,” Phoenix told interviewer Elvis Mitchell when asked about the potential honor.
