JOAQUIN PHOENIX SURPRISES MISS AMERICA CONTESTANTS
Actor-turned-musician Joaquin Phoenix provided the Miss America candidates with an unexpected celebrity sighting on Friday.
Phoenix, who was in Las Vegas for an musical appearance at Lavo nightclub at The Palazzo, he ran into the Miss America delegation near The Palazzo waterfall earlier in the day.
Once they recognized him -- check out the bushy beard -- he was a big hit. He flirted with them and tried on their tiaras and Miss America sashes.
Phoenix, who starred in "Gladiator" and "Walk The Line," even sang to them.
"They were all giddy," a spy told Vegas Confidential. "They were flipping out -- it was a big surprise to them."
His brother-in-law, Casey Affleck, was shooting footage of Phoenix's visit, reportedly for a documentary.
