The story: On assignment in Thailand, a lone-wolf assassin (Nicolas Cage) finds himself warming to the street punk (Shahkrit Yamnarm) he hires as an errand boy -- and drawn into a romance with a deaf-mute shopgirl (Charlie Young).

The buzz: The Hong Kong-based Pang twins ("The Eye") remake their award-winning 1999 Thai original; Jason Richman ("Swing Vote") is credited as screenwriter of this English-language version -- which, ominously, is not being screened for critics in advance.
