The city of Las Vegas active adult and senior centers offer exercise, fitness, crafts, arts, dance, music and computer classes Monday through Friday to residents age 50 and older. Many of these activities contribute to wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort kicks off its summer season Saturday. The resort will be open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Activities include scenic chairlift rides, disc golf, hiking, mountain biking and lawn games.
Las Vegas has plenty of summer fun for residents of all ages. City pools offer open swimming, swim lessons, exercise classes and special events, as well as novice teams for diving, water polo, competitive swimming and synchronized swimming for youth.
Las Vegas is completing renovation work on the historic west side of Lorenzi Park at 3333 W. Washington Ave. A grand opening is expected this summer. The western half of the 60-acre park has been closed since March 2012 to make way for the $15 million improvement project.
With National Bike Month in full swing, cycling events, groups and infrastructure projects are making downtown Las Vegas a friendlier place for cyclists.
