The free shows in the Music on the Mountain summer concert series have become a big draw about 45 minutes north of Las Vegas.
Just beyond the Las Vegas Valley, horseback riding companies offer scenic rides through Red Rock Canyon, the Sunrise Mountains and the Mojave Desert.
According to park officials, the renovation allows guests to see the caves in “a whole new light,” while reducing disturbances to the fragile ecosystem.
It is hot in the summer. For any longtime local, that’s no surprise, but just about everyone has their spot to escape to.
The park protects 4.5 miles of the Carson River east of Dayton, about 6 ½ hours northwest of Las Vegas, “where cottonwood riparian forests, wetlands, and oxbow ponds contrast with surrounding sagebrush uplands.”
