Weekend show offers fun for fans of felines
Felines take center stage in North Las Vegas this weekend when the Cat Fanciers' Association sponsors a Cat Show Saturday and Sunday at Aliante Station, 7300 Aliante Parkway.
The family-oriented event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the hotel's Scottsdale Ballroom.
General admission is $7, $6 for seniors and the military, $4 for children 12 and younger, or $18 for a family of two adults and two children. Tickets are available at the door.
The event is a fundraiser for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and is co-sponsored by Southern California Abyssinian Rescue.
The show will feature 39 breeds of cats and household pets. There will be displays and competitions among Persians, Siamese, Sphynx, Burmese, Manx, Somalis, Cornish Rex, Egyptian maus, Maine coons, American shorthairs and others.
In addition, there will be kittens for sale and vendors selling a variety of cat toys and supplies.
