Voice of Squidward on ‘Spongebob SquarePants’ arrested for alleged DUI
The voice actor best known for his role as Squidward Tentacles on the television show "Spongebob SquarePants" was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Burbank, Calif., police said.
According to Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco, around 11 p.m. Friday night, police found Rodger Bumpass, 64, leaning against a blue PT Cruiser, which was stopped in the middle of the street.
When officers approached, Bumpass started to walk away and almost fell.
According to the Los Angeles Times, after failing a field sobriety test, a breath test reportedly showed that Bumpass' blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit.
Bumpass told police he had driven to the area and was trying to get home.
He was released from custody the following morning on $15,000 bail, Huffington Post reported. He is due back in court next month.
