U2 announces tour dates, skips Las Vegas

NEW YORK — U2 says it will hit the stage in Vancouver next May to open a 19-city tour that skips Las Vegas (our words, not theirs).
Promoter Live Nation announced the rock band’s “iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE” tour on Wednesday, and tickets go on sale on Monday. The tour swings through North America next summer before heading to Europe in September 2015.
U2 is obviously hoping for a complete recovery by lead singer Bono, who was hurt in a bicycle accident in New York City last month. During a surprise gig in New York’s Times Square this week, Bruce Springsteen and Chris Martin filled in for the vocalist.
The band will play two nights in each city:

- May 22-23—US Airways Center—Phoenix, Arizona
- May 26-27, 30-31—Forum—Los Angeles, California
- June 12-13—Bell Centre—Montreal, Quebec
- June 24-25—United Center—Chicago, Illinois
- July 6-7—Air Canada Centre—Toronto, Ontario
- July 10-11—TD Garden—Boston, Massachusetts
- July 18-19, 22-23—Madison Square Garden—New York, New York
- Sept. 4-5—Pala Alpitour—Turin, Italy
- Sept. 8-9—Ziggo Dome—Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- Sept. 16-17—Globe—Stockholm, Sweden
- Sept. 24-25—O2 World—Berlin, Germany
- Oct. 5-6—Palau Sant Jordi—Barcelona, Spain
