Top Korean performers to visit Henderson
Korean Cultural Day 2010, presented in partnership with the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles and the Korean Foundation, will be hosted by the city of Henderson at 7 p.m. today at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water St. Admission is free.
The event will include traditional and modern Korean music and dances, elaborate and elegant Korean costumes, and tae kwon do demonstrations. There also will be a special performance by one of Korea's most famous hip-hop dancers and popper of the b-boy/breakdance leagues, Poppin' Hyun Joon.
"We are honored to be only one of two cities in the United States selected to host these talented performers," said Andre Primo, director of the Henderson Cultural Arts & Tourism Department. "This is a great opportunity for the community to participate in the cultural exchange to better understand and appreciate the many aspects of the Korean culture."
