Tom Green to rant for series of shows at Hard Rock Hotel

You may remember “The Tom Green Show” for the stunts and pranks. But his stand-up career proves there was more to it — or at least to Tom Green.

Stand-up was a natural evolution, allowing Green to “rant about things I find ridiculous about the world we’re living in,” and sometimes “make an actual point,” the comedian noted last year.

Then he was touring with Steve-O of “Jackass” fame. Now Green has the Hard Rock Hotel’s Vinyl stage all to himself for a series of shows there which launch this weekend and continue through April 28.

“I actually started doing stand-up when I was quite young, as a kid in Canada,” the 42-year-old said last year. “I was a little too young to be doing it at the time,” but the experience laid the groundwork for the MTV show for which he’s best remembered.

Now, “I just find it very cathartic in a lot of ways,” he said. “To be able to talk about personal experiences that I’ve had, and be able to rant about things I find ridiculous about the world that we’re living in … and not have to deal with any creative restrictions or anything like that.”
