Time running out for R-J’s NFL bar listing

There's still time for Las Vegas Valley bar owners and managers to have their establishments listed in the Review-Journal's annual listing of hometown football bars.

This year's directory of local bars and taverns that cater to fans of specific NFL teams will appear in the Sept. 2 Living section. As always, the goal is to direct fans of specific NFL teams to places where they can watch their teams play while surrounded only by fellow fans of their team, rather than in the multigame environment of a sports bar or sports book.

The rules:

■ Each bar on our list must show only its team's game while that team is playing, so we don't list sports bars, sports books, casinos, bars or rooms inside casinos, or anyplace else where other games are being shown while the hometown team's game is being broadcast.

■ Each bar must show every game its team plays, which means that the bar must subscribe to the NFL Sunday Ticket package.

■ Each bar must offer some sort of food or drink special during its team's games.

■ We will list giveaways bars will have during their teams' games, although we don't list gaming-related promotions.

To be listed, a bar's owner or manager - and only a bar's owner or manager - must call us with the relevant info. We'll accept the details only via a telephone conversation, and we will not accept voice mail messages, emails, press releases, letters, faxes or any other sort of secondhand communication.

Call 383-0280 - if we don't answer, leave your name and a reliable phone number and we'll get back to you ASAP - and we'll be taking calls from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, Friday, Monday and Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. No calls will be accepted after that deadline.
