This weekend to top last at nightclubs

If you thought last weekend was a zoo on the nightclub scene, highlighted by Britney Spears hosting opening night at LAX, wait until you see what's coming Las Vegas' way starting tonight.

Music stars galore will be all over the city this weekend as the MTV Video Music Awards take center stage, with the special performance going down Sunday at The Pearl inside the Palms.

Rapper Snoop Dogg leads the party scene tonight, performing at the Hard Rock Hotel pool before hosting his concert's after party at Body English just a few feet away inside the resort.

But tonight will be just a taste of what is to come Saturday around the Las Vegas Strip and beyond.

Pop music star Christina Aguilera highlights the night's list of top-notch hosts as she directs the party inside LAX inside the Luxor. Aguilera has a special interest in LAX, since she is an investor in Pure Management Group's latest venue.

Just down Las Vegas Boulevard, singer Cassie celebrates her 21st birthday in style at the Light Group-owned hot spot Jet, which should draw a strong crowd to The Mirage.

Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, brings her stunning, exotic looks and sense of style to the Caesars Palace megaclub Pure to host the night as resident DJ Hollywood works the turntables.

But perhaps the toughest ticket in town Saturday might just be the one which gets you entrance into Body English, where rapper 50 Cent shares his excitement at the official release of "Curtis" -- his new album which launches the same date as rival Kanye West's latest album.

BLUSH STARTS OFF STRONG -- Another one of the newest venues to hit the nightlife scene, Blush Boutique Nightclub, had its grand opening bash this past weekend, with enough sparklers and Cristal champagne to go around that you could need.

Several stars came out to party in the spot formerly held by Lure Ultra Lounge inside Wynn Las Vegas, including NBA star Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and his wife, Vanessa Bryant. Blond bombshell Pamela Anderson dropped by for the festivities, as well as Duke University/USA basketball coach Mike Kryzyzewski, Golden State Warriors guard Baron Davis and former Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen, who played for the University of Southern California in college and the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs.

LIGHT GROUP BIDS ADIEU TO CLUB -- The Light Group recently shut its doors to Light nightclub inside the Bellagio, only to make way for a new, saucy venue set to debut at the end of the year named The Bank.

Little is being mentioned about what we should expect from this new nightclub, but expect something different and unique from Light Group gurus Andrew Sasson and Andrew Masi. Next week, we will take a more in-depth look at The Bank and what we might expect from the soon-to-be heavy hitter on the nightclub circuit.
