DVDs
"The Cabin in the Woods" (R): Five college friends (led by "Thor's" Chris Hemsworth and "Dollhouse's" Fran Kranz) are terrorized during a weekend getaway, but all is not as it seems in this horror send-up from co-writer Joss Whedon.
Elsewhere, seven Brits (including Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy and Maggie Smith) adjust to retirement life in India in "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (PG-13). "Katy Perry The Movie: Part of Me" (PG) follows the entertainer onstage and off. And Hugh Dancy, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rupert Everett star in "Hysteria" (R), a Victorian-era romantic comedy about the invention of the vibrator.

"Winter of the World" by Ken Follett: This historical epic picks up where "Fall of Giants" leaves off, continuing the story of five families through the rise of the Third Reich, the Spanish Civil War and World War II.
Also this week, in "Low Pressure" by Sandra Brown, Bellamy Lyston's best-selling novel based on her older sister's murder more than a decade earlier makes her the target of a stalker.
