Teen finds Imagine Dragons treasure hidden in Vegas desert
Imagine… treasure.
That’s exactly what one 13-year-old Imagine Dragons fan did and it paid off in spades.
The Las Vegas-based alternative rock band posted a treasure hunt on their Facebook page, tempting fans with a little riddle:
- “First rule of following directions, be precise; second rule of following directions, make sure your navigation tools are up to par; and the third and final rule of following directions is the early bird catches the worm (there is only one worm, and it’s alive and well). Happy hunting.”
Lindsea Taylor, who currently lives in Florida, began her investigation with the band’s new album “Smoke + Mirrors,” ksl.com reports.
“I zoomed in on the picture (of the album cover), and I found the numbers,” Taylor said. “And I just immediately, I was just like … these are coordinates.”
After typing in the coordinates into Google, Taylor found that the treasure’s location was in Sin City.
Taylor, who has familal ties to Vegas, enlisted their help to go dig in the desert.
“There was a guitar signed by all the band members and a case for it,” she told ksl.com. “There were 10 Polaroids with pictures of the band members, and they each signed it, and then there were drum sticks signed, and there was a master pass that allows me to get into all of the (“Smoke + Mirrors”) concerts that I want. Two tickets free!”
Not a bad buried treasure, right?
