Speedway walkers, runners raise money for charity

Ambulance Chasers 2011, an event that includes a 5K and 10K run and a 1-mile fun run/walk, will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

To register, go to ambulancechasersLV.com. The fee for the 5K race is $30-$40, and the fee for the 10K race is $40-$50. The 1-mile fun run/walk is $20, $40 for a family of up to five. Visit the website for details.

Both 5K and 10K participants will race around the track, out to the dragstrip, run under the grandstands and end at the Neon Garage. All 1-mile fun run/walk participants will go once around the track.

Charities that will benefit from the event include Habitat for Humanity, Speedway Children's Charities and the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.

A runners appreciation party will take place at the Neon Garage.
